    Apricot cake with marzipan

    The highlight of the apricot season: an apricot cake from the tray refined with marzipan that can be whizzed up in no time.

    How to make it:

    Step 1:

    Preheat oven to 180 degrees hot air. Stir marzipan, powdered sugar and yolks until smooth.

    Step 2:

    Stir room-warm butter into the yolk mixture.

    Step 3:

    Beat 4 egg whites with granulated sugar until stiff. Stir flour, lemon zest, baking powder and milk into the yolk mixture. Fold in the beaten egg whites.

    Step 4:

    Spread the mixture on a baking tray and cover with halved apricots. The mixture is enough for about 2/3 of a baking tray.

    Bake for 30 - 40 minutes. After 20 minutes, turn down to 160 degrees.
