    Shopping in Salzburg

The main shops are located in the center of the Old City, along the right and left sides of the Salzach River. The Getreidegasse is probably one of the loveliest Shopping streets in the world: a wide range of stores inviting visitors to browse and shop are found behind the elaborately decorated façades, in the traditional passageways and inside the landmarked. Stores are usually open from Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday. Some stores open as early as 8:00 AM and close for a one or two-hour lunch break. Others, such as souvenir shops, are also open on Sundays and holidays.
