Responsibly to the Top by Cable Car

The Austrian cable car operators are using simple measures and trained staff to get you to the mountaintop responsibly.

    Carefree Adventures

Austria’s mountains have a special appeal all year round. Nearly 300 crystal-clear lakes, countless snow-covered peaks and green valleys offer the perfect setting for active holidaymakers and those seeking tranquillity. To ensure you can continue to relax in the alpine regions this summer, local tourism operators are adhering to strict hygiene and safety regulations. The Austrian cable car association has devised a thorough catalogue of measures, so that you can have complete peace of mind on your way up and down the mountain.

Highest Standards in the Cable Cars

The cable cars’ detailed concept has been designed to protect guests without significantly restricting their holiday experience.

Similar to public transport, guests have to wear face coverings when riding a cable car. In addition, cable car operators have introduced specific protective measures such as higher cable car frequency, limited number of people in gondolas, and face mask requirements while queueing.

    Staff have been trained to:

    • Minimise crowds
    • Ensure a smooth flow
    • Communicate with guests in a clear and consistent manner
    • Intervene when necessary

Passengers must wear a face covering throughout the journey.
