Surrounded by a glacier, mountains and lake, Zell am See-Kaprun is a natural paradise. To ensure that future generations can still enjoy nature and the landscape of the region in summer and winter, various sustainability measures have been taken.
Climate & Energy Model Region (KEM)
Zell am See-Kaprun has committed to eleven focal points over the next three years, aiming to minimise its ecological footprint due to tourism. These include increased investments in solar power, e-cars and e-bikes, expert consultation for tourism businesses, and regular updates for locals and guests on all things sustainability.
Train Travel
The mountain resort actively encourages holidaymakers to arrive by train rather than by plane or car. The train station is right in the heart of town, surrounded by hotels and restaurants, and there are regular connections from all Austrian cities, plus direct services from Germany and Switzerland.
