Vienna
The
only capital city in the world that can claim its own thermal spa is
Vienna. You will find the
Oberlaa Therme to the south of the city, offering thermal baths, a wellness area and a centre for "Life Energy", perfect for a little time out on your city break.
Burgenland
The thermal spas in
Burgenland have some of the
oldest and richest traditions in the whole of Austria. In its wealth of wellness parks and health temples, the healing spring waters are used to create a veritable feast for the senses. Among the most popular are the
Burgenlandtherme in Bad Tatzmannsdorf, the
Sonnentherme in Lutzmannsburg which offers
special catering for babies and small children, and
St. Martins Therme & Lodge close to the Neusiedler See - Seewinkel National Park.
Carinthia
More than 60 curative spas located in the vicinity of Villach and
Bad Kleinkirchheim lend the traditional winter sports region of
Carinthia a superb added extra. Even the ancient Romans seemed to agree and were enthusiastic guests at the
Thermen Resort Warmbad-Villach, Austria's southernmost thermal spa, more than 2000 years ago. Nowadays, more than 6 sources provide healing waters that are particularly suitable for
musculoskeletal therapies. One spa particularly worth of mention is the
Thermal Spa Römerbad, one of Europe's most beautiful alpine wellness oases.
Lower Austria
The Therme Laa is a beautifully designed thermal complex complete with its own health centre and luxurious spa, with ambient lighting and underwater music. In Lower Austria a total of six establishments have been brought together under the auspices of the moor spa in Harbach and the Gross Gerungs heart and circulation centre. The health resort in Baden bei Wien is one of the region's most popular, due to its proximity to the city of Vienna. Another particulary quirky choice is the Linsberg Asia Spa in Bad Erlach which combines Far-Eastern Philosophy with Asian Design.
Upper Austria
Well-being and relaxation can be celebrated in
Upper Austria in just about every imaginable way. Submerge yourself completely in the soothing waters of the
EurothermenResort Bad Schallerbach, an extensive thermal complex offering cures and a water park. There's also the
EurothermenResort Bad Ischl, and at the
EurothermenResort Bad Hall you will find the
most concentrated iodine-spring in Central Europe, an ideal treatment for a number of complaints.
SalzburgerLand
The Bad Gastein
Felsentherme offers bathing and
relaxation at an altiude of 1100 metres in
SalzburgerLand. Here you can enjoy the Panorama Wellness area with a spectacular view out over the Alps. The
Alpentherme Gastein is Europe's most modern
alpine health and recreation resort, blessed with a tremendous view of the giant glaciers of the
Hohe Tauern National Park. And last but certainly not least there is the gigantic
TAUERN SPA in
Zell am See-Kaprun which covers approximately 48.000 sqm. The vast spa world contains panorama saunas, brine baths, a fragrant aroma steam bath and a glass-paned outdoor pool.
Styria
When in search of recreation,
Styria is a fantastic choice.
Peat, salt and thermal springs are the base products for a broad programme that can be enjoyed in nine thermal spas and numerous other
wellness and health resorts here.
Tirol
The largest and most modern thermal spa in
Tirol is the
Aquadome in Längenfeld, whose spectacular glass structure was transposed upon the 50000 square metre plot in an outstanding architectural fashion. Then there's the health resort of Bad Häring with its
sulphurous mineral spring water and idyllic setting, nestled between the Kitzbüheler Alps and the Wilder Kaiser, to name but a few of Tirol's
spas.
Vorarlberg
Wellness and well-being hotels combine health remedies from nature in Vorarlberg, such as peat in the health hotel Bad Reuthe. Glass, wood, and a view to nature are the distinctive features of the countless well-being oases in the style of modern Vorarlberg architecture.
