“The question is always: how much nature do I need? Just a town park, or what we experience here.”

East Tirol: explore nature above the tree line

Looking up at the mighty mountains is wonderful. Discovering rare animals and plants with the help of an experienced mountain guide is even better.

Traveling with a local who knows the area is always an advantage, but it becomes invaluable when you explore the mountains of East Tirol. With the help of a National Park ranger you will discover places you would never find on your own and learn more about the wilderness around you. Spot a shy marmot, watch a mighty bearded vulture take off into the sky, and learn the names of rare flowers and herbs dotting the alpine meadows. You can book a guided tour of the year-round by contacting the National Park Hohe Tauern.

National Park rangers are delighted to share their knowledge with visitors and tell them about the mountains, which they know like the back of their hand. Every season has its distinct charm: the blossoms in spring, or fall's earthy colors. Just one thing stays the same throughout the year: nature's ability to relax, recharge, and inspire you. Scaling a mountain gives you a better perspective on life with every foot you climb.
